A nice and fitting gift for myself: that is what I am after. It is not just because the holidays are just around the corner, but also because I want to reward myself, so to speak. As the year is nearing its end, I fee like I’ve done a pretty good job for the year, as far as my career and my personal life is concerned. So, I thought that it is only fitting that I give some sort of reward for myself. Something that I have wanted to buy foir sometime now would be nice, not too luxurious and expensive, just something that’s within reason as a gift for myself. The timing also has a lot to do with it, as the season is just perfect for gift-giving, and if I could give presents to other people, then why not to myself?
There are so many nice items that I could easily choose as my gift for myself. If I really look at all the options that are available to me, then I might spend a long time deciding about it. That’s why I consider it fortunate that I have already decided in my mind what I really want. In fact, I have already known about it for the past year, and this time I determined to finally get it. It is a timepiece, the Atacama chronograph 1880 series, made by Luminox. I have eyed it ever since I saw it on an online search of watches that I did late last year.
The Atacama Series
One of the most well known Swiss watch makers in the world, Luminox originally signed on to design timepieces for US Navy seals. That alone is already a sure way to attract people to buy their products. I was drawn to their Atacama 1880 series, which were their premier line for their highly successful Field series. It was named after a well known desert in Chile, and was chosen to symbolize the ability of the watch to withstand rugged outdoor conditions.
Here are a couple of my preferred models from the series:
• Luminox Atacama Field Chronograph 1880 Series: Model A 1883 – Stylish, classy, even edgy, this watch has it all. The buckled leather band and stainless steel case truly blends in together perfectly with the precision and overall performance of this model. You can have this one for around $636.00.
• Luminox Atacama Field Chronograph 1880 Series: Model A 1885 – Features genuine tan leather strap and brushed case made of stainless steel. Chronograph function and the characteristic luminous hands and hour markers, with protection through secured screw-on crown. Also offers quartz movement and is water resistant for up to 330 feet. Priced at around $522.00.
