I have long been a fan of anything that fuses creativity and technology. Endlessly fascinating to me, it excites me and makes me marvel at the possibilities created by such combination. In terms of appreciating it, I am awed not only by possibilities but also by what has actually enabled man to achieve it. It is inspiring, no doubt, as well as assuring for the future that lies before all of us. I know that it is a little broad and seemingly all-encompassing, but I also appreciate it on a more personal level. And when I think about it, I believe that watches somehow represent that unique fusion. Not all timepieces of course, as there are only some that reach that lofty level.
It might be obvious that I am a little partial to watches, but I readily admit it, as it is my favorite item to collect. And as of today my favorite is a popular one, the Citizen Eco Drive Watch. While I’m also a fan of other great watches, I particularly love this watch from Citizen. The primary way to identify the Citizen Eco Drive is through the fact that it is mainly light powered. This is due to the special titanium lithium ion secondary battery that’s charged through an amorphous silicone cell located right behind the dial. Light goes through the covering crystal and dial before eventually reaching the solar cell.
Charging the Citizen Eco Drive
Once your Citizen Eco Drive Watch stops, it is a sign that it needs to be recharged. It might lose time or tick somewhat erratically or even stop completely, either of these is a sign that it needs to be exposed to light. The watch is actually not supposed to stop, but if it does not receive enough light, then it will lose power. So here’s how to charge a Citizen Eco drive Watch.
• If the Citizen Eco Drive has stopped working completely, then recharging it through the sun is the best option. You need to determine how long it will take to charge the watch through exposure to the sun, as it might vary slightly from model to model. If it is a sunny day, three and a half hours of exposure should already suffice, but cloudy days would require about nine hours.
• Select the perfect place to recharge the Citizen Eco drive. It should be a place where it would receive the most sunlight without being exposed to hazards such as dampness, pets, little kids, and water.
• The watch should be left in the sun until it begins running again. It should be reset especially it was recharged from no power or low power state. This might vary from one model to another, so it would be best to refer to the manual for information on this one.
