Opening a Watch
You might want to open a watch for different reasons, but here’s how to open a watch properly:
• For a watch with a screw – off watch back, make use of a case opener tool. Through the tools adjustable wheel, line up the prongs in the case back. Pop off the back by twisting the tool counterclockwise.
• Through the use of a pressure – fit snap – off case back, locate a slight indentation or cut-out along the edge of the back of the watch. This might require a magnifying glass in order to be done properly. Gently slide a watch case opener blade into the indentation and make a little clockwise twist while pressing down the blade to pop off the back.
• For a watch back with four screws, use a set of watch repair screwdrivers for opening. Put down the watch face down on a cloth and test screwdrivers on the screws until the ones with the right size is found.
